The grounds are spectacular with delightful gardens and gorgeous swimming pools teaming with birds. After we are settled, we will board our air conditioned coach and take a 1-hour drive to the Esna Temple. The town of Esna was built over the buried temple. Once found, it took 50 years to dig out the temple. Because it covered in sand for millennia, it was preserved and still has wonderful original color. The Christian zealots did not damage the Esna Temple as they did most other temples in Egypt in the 2nd Century AD. Here we’ll see goddesses seated on thrones with beautiful scenes of the populace giving offerings. There is a rare statue of lion-headed goddess Sekhmet in situ where initiates communicate with her as an oracle. Early return to the resort to enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening. You’ll have time for a swim or to treat yourself to a massage at the spa. Exotic buffet dinner by at the poolside at the outdoor dining room.

We’ll take a day trip in our air conditioned coach across the lush farm land to the fantastic Temple of Seti I at Abydos where the images of the curious flying objects are found. Here we'll see the infamous Kings List. As well, there are rooms of exquisite frescos with gorgeous original color telling a story of a revived spirituality. We’ll also visit the ancient and mysterious Osirion where the several Flowers of Life are located. Box lunch while in transit to the Temple of Hathor at Dendera where the First Hypostyle Hall has been recently restored revealing curious star maps and strange half-animal half-human beings. At Dendera, there is an even more ancient temple below the ground. In the crypts, we’ll see odd ancient devices resembling light bulbs. We’ll pass by the village where the Nag Hamadi ancient scrolls were found in 1945 written in the voice of the divine feminine. Dinner at the resort. Sweet dreams on the shores of the Nile.
Monday, November 14: B-L-D – Buffet breakfast. Check out of the resort. Morning tour to the West Bank visiting the Valley of the Queens, beautifully colored Temple of Medinet Habu, and Deir el Medina, the workmen’s village with gorgeous frescos of musicians and dancing maidens.
